- 01Career Coaching is beyond just whipping up a generic resume and LinkedIn profile and calling it a day. It is a strategic approach to find out your strengths, what differentiates you from the crowd, what skills you needs to brush up on, and provides you a personal brand to help you achieve your goals. We give real action items and provide communication strategies to give you the best chance possible at achieving your goals. What Career Coaching is not is a guarantee that you will land your dream job with an expectation to receive results within 30 days. Just like going to a personal trainer at the gym, if the client of the trainer does not put in the work they will fail to see results.
- 02I have been working with IT professionals for 8+ years now! It's hard to believe that it has already been that long! I can work with anyone that has just graduated college, a technical bootcamp, or a self taught developer/IT professional. Additionally, I can work with Sr. Software Engineers, Sr. DevOps Engineers, IT Support, Team Lead Developers, and the way up to Development Manger and CTO professionals. I do not work with individuals that are outside of the software industry as I want to ensure that I can create the best value for my clients.
- 03There are so many reasons! Here are a few: I have a BA degree in Computer Science from the University of Mississippi. I have worked on Software Teams and on HR Teams throughout my 8+ year professional career. I have place many many candidates at Fortune 500 companies, mid sized companies, and startups. I have looked over and qualified thousands of resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles. I am an ACTIVE Sr. Technical Recruiter! This gives me HUGE insights on the market, salary ranges, and technology employers are looking for, and even which languages and frameworks your team should be adopting. I love what I do. I love getting individuals the offer, the raise, the dream job. I love helping someone have peace and giving them realistic insight as to what it is going to take for them to achieve their goals. I do not sugar coat details, but I also am very human and I understand the pressure of going through career transitions and changes. - 04I conduct career coaching with clients all around the world! 100% of the work is done over the phone or utilizing the other technologies above. Additionally, I always keep our conversations private and utilize private shared documents to work with you through Google Drive. This allows us to ensure that we are always up to date on all of the action items and every document can be kept secure.
- 05Yes! I work with individuals that live all over the world in several different times zones.
- 06Yes! Confidentially is a critical part of my business. Everything shared with me is confidential and will stay confidential even if we are not actively working together.
- 07Yes! I understand that it is not always possible to meet during regular business hours for a wide variety of reasons. I have a very fluid schedule that I can adjust to fit your needs best.
- 08Yes, I understand that life happens and sometimes we do need to reschedule appointments. However, I would ask that you provide us with at least a 24 hours notice of cancellation.
- 09Yes! Here are the general steps. However, everyone's situation is different and these are subject to change : 1. As a starting point, we sit down and figure out what your vision and direction you are looking to achieve in your career. This is all within the content of where you currently are positioned in your career right now. 2. Next, we start piecing together how we get from "A" to "B" and start putting together actionable items that can be measured and executed. Example: If you are looking to achieve X (receive a promotion) how are we going to make this a reality for you? 3. We dig into your skills and help you identify, upgrade, and/or add new skills to your portfolio. This is important, as it helps us identity shifts in your mindset and/or improvement on current skills to help you achieve your goals. In the tech industry this is an ever changing and evolving. 4. Optimization of your visibility and marketability is also a critical piece of the puzzle. We help ensure that the way the world sees you is consistent with your skill set and your unique qualities that set you apart from other candidates. This includes building and/or editing your resume, cover letter, and your LinkedIn profile to promote visibility and marketability. 5. Lastly, we help you create a positive self image, mindset, and communication skills. This is completed by dispelling limiting mindsets and helping you gain confidence in conversations through a wide variety of services such as mock interviews, providing of specific phrases, working with you to create email scripts, etc.
- 10First off, that is an amazing outcome! Since the hours that we have and sessions that are provided do expire after one month it makes a lot of sense to utilize the rest of the training to grow other aspects of your career. For example, organization leadership or navigating office politics. It is important to keep in mind short term outcomes and long term outcomes, both of which we will be discussing and parsing through as we go through the program.
- 11Yes! I have overlooked, edited, and gone through thousands of resumes and LinkedIn Profiles! I know a career winning resume and LinkedIn profile when I see one. Additionally, I have worked with several professionals who have received multiple offers off the resume that we created together. I am happy to provide these services in both career coaching packages that I provide. Your resume and your LinkedIn profile are the foundation to your personal brand. Once we have those perfected everything else becomes so much easier!
- 12Generally speaking, most of my clients invest anywhere from 1,200-3,600 + taxes for the Unlimited Month(ly) Program. However, if you have a few minor questions and only need assistance with your LinkedIn or Resume the Networking Professional Plan (125.00/hr) may work best for you. Thankfully, we do offer a free consultation call to ensure we know which plan will work best for you or if you even need career coaching. Ultimately, we will work with you to ensure we make the best decision. Career Coaching can be a business or tax deductible expense (contact your tax accountant)
- 13Yes! I do this is by opening up my active professional network with 1000+ connections. I also make introductions, create emails/templates, and find ways to get your information to a real person, not just an ATS system.
- 14Yes and No. This is contingent on the package that we decide to move forward with after our initial 30 minute conversation. For the Network Professional Package there is a limitation on how much email and texting support can be offered. However, we do offer full support outside of sessions for the Unlimited Month(ly) Program.
- 15Everyone is different, some individuals I may have a quick fix that can even be resolved in the FREE Career Strategy Session. If this is the case, I don't think it makes a lot of sense for us to continue with any packages that requires purchase. Additionally, it is a case by case situation. Some will only need to purchase one hour of the Network Professional package, but others may need to have 2-3 hours offers of this particular package. Some may work better in an all access situation which will fall under the Unlimited Month(ly) Program. These are all key items that will be discussed on the first Career Strategy Session call. - 16Yes, we do offer a payment plan once any client has purchased over 500.00 worth of services from Select Recruiting. We divide out payments over a 30-60 day duration.
